Paulina Yunita

What product or service do you offer?
I am a master student in ageing and social change at Linköping University, and my project is Care Connect, which is a digital platform to empower informal caregivers, makes caregiving less stressful and more efficient.

Why did you choose to start your own business?
I chose to start this business because I recognize the major challenges informal caregivers face, such as overwhelming administrative tasks and emotional stress among other things. I want to create a seamless and supportive solution to reduce their burden as they care for older person or chronically ill person. My motto is simple, “help those who needs help or those who can’t help themselves.”

What challenges have you encountered?
So far, the biggest challenges have been addressing the fragmented systems caregivers have to navigate and ensure the platform integrates well with authorities and healthcare providers.

What are you most proud of so far?
This platform will tackle major societal challenges, such as informal caregiver burnout and rising ageing population needs.

How has Student Innovation by LiU supported you?
Student Innovation by LIU has been the first point of contact that’s very valuable in supporting my journey by providing coaching, connections to local resources, and a supportive community/events that help me refine my business ideas and startup skills. My business coach (Simon) has been my brainstorming partner for the past one year. Together we went through my business idea using the NABC, detailed further by using the business model canvas, and we had a workshop together with ALMI to pivot the
business timeline, detect the major obstacles, and forecast the financial projections.
