Hussnain Haidar

What product or service do you offer?
I’m building Svenskly (Svenskly.se), an offline-first app that teaches practical Swedish for everyday life. It brings vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, conversation practice, and cultural context into one cohesive experience. The web version is live, and the iOS and Android apps are launching very soon.

Why did you start this project?
Learning Swedish often feels fragmented and overwhelming for newcomers. I wanted to create a solution that is highly practical, accessible, and actually useful from day one.

What challenges have you encountered?
The biggest challenge has been prioritization – balancing the build of a feature-rich, practical product while ensuring it remains lightweight, privacy-focused, and fully functional offline.

How has Student Innovation by LiU supported you?
They have been instrumental in strengthening the business side. They helped me sharpen how I define the core problem, understand my target audience, and set a clear direction for the company.

What are you most proud of?
Taking Svenskly from a simple idea to a fully functioning product. Seeing the web app live and knowing the mobile apps are just around the corner is a great feeling.

Tell us about yourself!
Right now, I am a solo founder based in Linköping with a background in computer science. I’m deeply passionate about language learning, product development, design, and building digital tools that make people’s lives easier.

Are you looking for co-founders or help?
Yes. I’d love to connect with people who have expertise in growth marketing, language pedagogy, content strategy, partnerships, or product distribution-especially those with a background in EdTech or Swedish language education.
