About KFUM BrevikKFUM Brevik is a course and camp center located by the archipelago at Slätbakens shore on Vikbolandet, approximately 40 kilometers outside Norrköping. Since 1956, the facility has been organizing summer camps and courses, offering a variety of activities such as canoeing, swimming, archery, and high ropes courses. The center welcomes over 100 visitors per day during peak seasons, including children, youth, school groups, and organizations. KFUM Brevik operates with a holistic view of individuals, aiming to meet the current needs of young people through its diverse programs.

Background

In Sweden, only about 10% of all plastic waste is recycled, with the majority being incinerated, leading to significant environmental concerns. Facilities like KFUM Brevik, which host numerous visitors daily, generate considerable amounts of plastic waste. However, challenges arise due to the lack of municipal collection services for sorted waste in such locations, making it difficult to manage and recycle plastic effectively.
